Dognapping & Responsible Pet Ownership
Our head of veterinary services, Úna O’Toole, appeared on RTÉ radio’s Drivetime to discuss the huge increase in the demand of our services during COVID-19, as well as the importance of responsible pet ownership.
She was joined by James Browne, Fianna Fáil TD, where the discussion then turned to the increase in the number of dogs being stolen during lockdown.

The Irish Blue Cross urges people to think carefully before they bring a new pet into the family home, and to consider the huge personal and financial responsibility that caring for an animal involves.
If you are considering getting a pet, we would ask new pet owners to adopt or rescue a pet that needs a good home from a reputable rescue shelter or re-homing centre – and never buy online.
Always ensure that a pet is micro-chipped and neutered, and more advice on what to consider before before getting a pet can be found on our website here.
