VHI Women's Mini Marathon for The Irish Blue Cross Dublin
Womens Mini Marathon for the Irish Blue Cross
Entries for the VHI Virtual Women’s Mini Marathon are open! This year’s event is going virtual and take place from the 1st – 10th October 2020.
Every year we help thousands of sick and injured pets through our network of 10 Mobile Clinics across Dublin, and our head in Inchicore.
Our team of volunteers, vets, and nurses have worked around the clock throughout COVID-19 to keep our services operational. But we can’t do it alone, we need your help.
So that’s why The Irish Blue Cross is calling upon women across the country and beyond to step up for our furry friends by signing up to take part in this year’s VHI Virtual Women’s Mini Marathon.
Our amazing Nurse, Ellen (pictured above with Snoop), is taking on the challenge this year;
“Working on the front line as part of the Irish Blue Cross Veterinary team, I have experienced first hand the pressures of COVID-19 on everyone; from our staff, to our patients and their owners. It’s at times like this that we need your support more than ever. This is what inspired me to dust off my runners and run the Women’s Mini Marathon virtually this year for our animal companions that do so much for us. Please donate whatever you can, so that we can continue to provide our service to those pets and owners that need our help most in these challenging times.”
Clíona is a pet owner and has first hand experience of The Irish Blue Cross’s services. Here is why she is doing the Mini Marathon; “Anyone who knows me well (or just my doggo Boots from the many posts on instagram) knows our pupper hasn’t had an easy time the last few years. He needs regular check ups & treatment which the Blue Cross have been AMAZING at providing for him. They kept him a priority even during their closure for renovations and during the last 6 months of the Covid19 pandemic. I could not be anymore grateful for the work that they do and every single thing they do is dependent on charity they receive..
If you could spare any type of donation, little or large, it would be hugely appreciated by me, Bootsy Boo and the Blue Cross themselves.
Go raibh céad míle maith agaibh”
2020 marks 75th anniversary of The Irish Blue Cross serving animals in Ireland. Each year, our Mobile Clinics, and head Clinic in Inchicore, help the most vulnerable people in our society, and their pets. We currently have 40,000 furry patients registered with our dedicated team.
