This is an opportunity to work in a rewarding charity environment where every day brings variety and purpose. Working within a contextualised care model, you’ll use your clinical judgement to develop practical treatment plans that improve animal welfare while recognising the individual circumstances of each client.

You’ll manage a varied caseload of consultations, surgery, dentistry and diagnostic imaging, working alongside an experienced team of veterinary nurses, animal care assistants and receptionists to provide veterinary care that makes a meaningful difference to pets and the people who care for them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and surgical care using sound clinical judgement within a contextualised care framework.

About You

You are a veterinary surgeon who enjoys solving clinical challenges, communicating openly with clients and using sound clinical judgement to provide practical, contextualised care.

You enjoy working as part of a supportive team while also being confident managing your own caseload. You recognise that good veterinary care is about more than clinical knowledge alone – it also requires empathy, clear communication and the ability to develop practical treatment plans that deliver meaningful benefits for patients and their owners.

Ideally, you will have:

  • A veterinary degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
  • Current registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
  • Current eligibility to work in Ireland without the need for employment permit or visa sponsorship.
  • Experience in small animal practice.
  • Confidence in consulting, routine surgery, imaging and dentistry.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to prioritise a varied caseload in a busy clinical environment.
  • An interest in practising contextualised veterinary care that aims to provide the greatest benefit for the largest number of pets and their owners.
  • A commitment to professionalism, teamwork and continuous learning.
